Our History

In January of 1967 Dwain Mendenhall, an officer of Regional Supply, discovered an unmet need for label manufacturing in Utah (USA). He asked Glade Inglet, to head up a new division for Regional Supply; that division was named American Label Company.

A 4”, four-color, Webtron Multiflex press was purchased and installed in a converted shed on 300 West and about 3500 South in Salt Lake City. In April of 1967 the first pressure-sensitive labels rolled off the press.

American Label built a new facility and added additional equipment and employees during the next few years. At the time, flexography was a relatively new and unpredictable process. As a matter of survival, American Label worked within its own operation and with equipment and material suppliers on major improvements and innovations.

This spirit of embracing and advancing new technology and processes persists at American Label today. Flexography and digital printing have evolved over time and American Label has kept in step with best practices and equipment upgrades.

American Label Company is one of the leading label manufacturers in the Intermountain West. It continues in its long tradition of top quality and solid service to its business partners.
